TA-8227 UZB: Second Water Supply and Sanitation Investment Program

The program was financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) through a Multitranche Financing Facility (MFF). The resettlement work under the current assignment was carried out under Tranche 1, which included the construction of a Wastewater Treatment Plant and the reconstruction of existing networks and collectors in Djizzakh City.

Within the assignment, DEEX conducted a socioeconomic and census survey of affected households within the plant area and along the sewerage network and linear-object areas, where permanent and temporary impacts were anticipated.

DEEX developed a Land Acquisition and Resettlement Plan (LARP), classified as Category B, covering 30 hectares of agricultural land. The company followed up on the status of the LARP with ADB and made the necessary revisions to the document.

The completed LARP documentation was subsequently submitted to ADB. The assignment also included translation of safeguards documents from English into Russian and Uzbek.
