TA-8142 UZB: Takhiatash Power Plant Efficiency Improvement Project
The objective of the proposed Project is to improve the energy efficiency of the Takhiatash Thermal Power Plant (TPP) through the adoption of energy-efficient technology that will contribute to increased reliable power supply and climate change mitigation.
The project includes construction of a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant, decommissioning of inefficient existing power plant units, and capacity development.
Within the assignment, DEEX conducted due diligence on land acquisition for the expansion of the Takhiatash Power Plant and provided recommendations on whether the proposed project would require land acquisition and a Land Acquisition and Resettlement Plan (LARP).
DEEX prepared the LARP in accordance with the ADB Safeguards Policy Statement (2009), assisted the ADB mission team, collaborated with other PPTA consultants who were expected to undertake due diligence and assist the ADB project team, and participated in the ADB fact-finding mission.
The assignment also included translation of safeguards documents from English into Russian and Uzbek.
